John Mearsheimer: "Israel is an albatross around our neck"

The renowned scholar of International Relations considers Israel a liability to the United States, and a very dangerous one at that

John Mearsheimer, one of the most respected scholars in the field of International Relations, is indignant at the unhinged and criminal behaviour of Israel, and how it can drag the United States into a major war in West Asia. Interviewed by Andrew Napolitano, Mearsheimer calls out the Israeli genocide and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, and criticizes the shamelessly submissive attitude of the American government and political establishment.

A fierce critic of Israeli interference in American politics, Mearsheimer, together with Stephen Walt, is the author of The Israel Lobby and US Foreign Policy, a book published in 2008. He is alarmed by the growing risks of a catastrophic conflagration, especially considering the failure of the attempt to “eliminate” Hamas. The attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria, a brazen violation of international law, just added fuel to the fire (literally).

One particularly terrifying aspect of the current crisis is the fact that, in case of “existential danger”, Israel could unleash its nuclear arsenal — what is known as the Samson Option. Will they tear down the pillars and burn us all?
